I always pet string rays at the aquarium, but they are small and barb removed, so it's alot safer... still I always get scaried they will somehow flip over and bite my hand!!!
Did you see that pic of that sting ray.. DAMN that is huge! I would freak out!

it is not a Sting Ray it is a Spotted Eagle Ray. They even say that in the article. They are not the same thing at all
a Spotted Eagle Ray does not have a stinger. Some stupid reporter knew that if they said it was a Sting Ray it would get more press

oh and it says it stings
"The stinging spines, originating just behind the dorsal fin, are short and number from 2-6. They have a barbed tip and recurved lateral teeth along with a forked root. These venomous spines can deliver a nasty sting when used in defense against potential threats."
