    "Why strength training first? Because strength training uses glycogen as a fuel source (stored carbohydrates in your muscles). By weight training first, we are going to use up most of the glycogen in our muscles, so there’s a greater tendency for our cardio workout to use up fat as a fuel source. So, if we were to do cardio first, we might not be able to lift as much weights, therefore compromising our workout to a certain extent."

    Full on workout days though....skip the cardio.

    Get up in the morning and run a few miles first thing every day. All the cardio you'll ever need. Then just hit the gym whenever you can during the day.

    Hmph. I've been doing it wrong for years....damnit!! LOL...I've always done my cardio first simply 'cause I HATE IT!! If I wait 'til after I lift, I normally say fuck it and leave!! Here lately, though, I've lost too much weight, so I normally just do about 5 minutes of something to loosen up before I lift.

    Should also note after you use up your glycogen stores you start burning protein, aka the muscle you're trying to maintain or build

    This is the only REAL answer. This is the exact reason you do weights first on a day you do both.

    Don't do legs on the days you lift and then run...unless you don't intend to put out on your cardio anyway.
