Final Fantasy XI

Anyone play it? Like it/not like it? I'm thinking about picking it up, but want to make sure its a good choice.

I play it actually. Im going to tell you. Its freakin hard in the beginning. You really gotta bust your ass to get through the first part of the game. Players are real helpful tho.

Its really dumb. But so is WoW. And Everquest. You just get addicted. Its like your character is your car. You see new gear (bolt ons!!) you want them so you can be l33t.

are you talking about that game for the xbox 360. Let me know cause my gf just bought the game and didnt know it was an online only game and of course since she opened it they wont take it back. So let me know before you go and buy it

Yeah its online only and requires a monthly fee to play. Thats what sucks.

I have PS2, so that wouldn't work for me. But to JHayes, I need to purchase that big box thing that it comes with plus a network adapter, is that it? And do you know anything about those expansion packs?

Join the Ragnarok server, I'll get you in my linkshell. Also the expansions are
1) Rise of the Zilart- This gives you access to new zones and missions, also unlocks Ninja, Samurai and Dragoon.
2) Chains of Promethia- Not much new job wise, however there is a shit ton of new land to explore and the story is amazing, also if you beat the story to COP you get the best ring in the game
3) Treasures of Art Urghan- Gives access to Blue Mage, Corsair and Puppetmaster. Also has a new city.

Yes you need the PS2 HDD it comes with FFXI, and a network adapter to log on. When you start out its not going to be easy, but my linkshell will be helpful if you have any questions. When you start pick carefully what you want to do. Mages are the easiest and most desired. Warriors are basically meat bags everyone wants you too. Theifs are the hardest. Monks are badass don't let anyone tell you different. They will out damage anything exept black mages. See you in the game.
