A sad day for the NFL for sure. He's easily one of the greats of the game.

favres legacy will live on forever.....he loved playing the game and in my opinion because of the love of the game that he had that makes him the all time best quarterback without a doubt............

He will be a shoe-in for the HOF, but thank gawd we do not have to watch Brett get hammered for another year.

He did good last year but he beat Marino's records (almost all) good time to retire imo.

I would consider Favre one of the 3 greatest QBs to ever play the game. Hate to see him go, but its the right time for him. One of the few pro athletes in the modern era that you can still appreciate.

Great time to retire IMO.. Old man could still play thats for sure. Had a great career and will have absolutely no trouble getting into the HoF.

Although the Packers lost Farve they don't have that bad of a starter now in Rodgers.. He got some solid minutes in against Dallas and honestly didn't do that bad. (That's coming from a Dallas fan...)

With only getting in 2 games last year he had over 200 passing yards while completing over 70% of his passes, a TD, and no interceptions.. And he was a first round draft pick like 4 years ago.. Thats not to bad is it?

He sure went out with a bang....two interceptions in the last two possessions of the playoff game costing the packers the chance of a win .
