    I do the cooking.

Simple stuff like cut up steak pieces, onions and peppers, spritzed with oilive oil and fresh cracked black pepper and kosher salt and cooked on the grill. Goes great with steamed snap peas and corn on the cob.

grilled italian sausage with peppers and onions.......
Ditto for bratwurst (but steam it in beer first).

We like to get a decent small roast 4-5 pounds once a week. I generally make some small knife slices and lay some fresh garlic inside, then smooth with olive oil, kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper and cook it a nice rare to medium rare. When it somes out my wife uses the beef fat to make Yorkshire pudding (basically a simple popover recipe that is made in the pan the beef was cooked in). Peas make a good side dish.

Living in Maine we often have seafood on sale and the same basic rules apply... Do not overcook, olive oil or butter, a bit of garlic, salt and pepper with whatever fish is on sale of often a good main course.

No. I drag race, perform weddings, and do IT services. However in college I spent four years working part time as a chef apprentice at a resort in Wisconsin... One of the older guys took me "under his wing".

thanks for the responses.....keep them comming.....One of my favorites is cook boneless pork chops in crock pot most of the day with water don't let it dry up add 1 to 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup put it over white rice....crassants and corn, or on the cob go well with this, and wifey usually makes french fries.

A "traditional new England Boiled Dinner is a good Crock Pot dish.

Corned Beef, carrots, potatoes... The only thing i really do differently is I only add the cabbage at the very end for just about three minutes, no more...

Overcooked cabbage stinks and is slimy. I like the cabbage hot, semi-soft, and sweet with butter on it. For the life of me I always hated it when my mom would cook this as the house would stink up like a stale fart in an elevator. By cooking the cabbage just enough to soften it you have none of the odor and suprise... It actually tastes good.

i cook at home, gf sometimes bakes cake...

if you like garlic, the most simple pasta dish is spaghetti:

boil as directed on the package (8-10 min.), put pasta in a strainer.
put olive oil in the same pot. take sliced fresh garlic, roast in the olive oil for about two minutes.
add black olives, fresh or frozen herbes (parsley and/or basil), salt and pepper.
    take pot from the stove.
add pasta from the strainer and toss.
top with fresh ground parmegiano cheese.

a chinese dish from my favorite restaurant (exotic, but easy to make):

Chicken with ginger and basil (sweet + spicy)

use a wok or deep pan:
    slice/dice chicken meat.
heat oil in pan, fry fresh chopped ginger for 1 minute.
add chopped garlic (large chunks) and fry another minute.
add chili if you need the heat.
add chicken, fry until sealed/light brown.
add honey (2-3 parts) and light soy sauce (1 part).
add fresh thai basil leaves (works with regular basil, too).

    serve with steamed rice.

i never use measured amounts of anything, so for proportions: use the force, young luke...

I enjoy making some stir fry on occasion, it is very easy to make and an inexpensive meal. I just cut up beef into strips and normally use broccoli, baby corn, green pepper, onions, and garlic for the veggies. Just brown all the meat strips first and then add in your veggies and once the veggies start to get cooked add in your stir fry sauce and serve over rice.

I do all my cooking. I like all kinds of things as long as there is a lot.
I like the crock pot for lots of things, because it is easy.
I love the grill for just about anyting.

I never cook with beer, I love beer and food, but not for cooking.
My brats are always grilled, and if you do it right, you do not burn them, and if they are good brats, there is no need to stea,/boil them in beer.

I love chicken, there are so damn many recipies and different things to do with it.
    Potatoes, or rice or pasta
    biscuts and bread

    damn, I am hungrey!!!!

My old girl cooks Curried Tuna Mornay. Tastes better than it sounds. I love spicey food but you can make this as mild or as hot as you like.

    Ingredience:

    One onion
    Tin of tuna
    Margarine/butter
    Curry powder
    Cornflour
    Milk
    1 carrot (optional)
    1 cup of peas (optional)

    Method:
Open tuna and drain liquid. Break up meat with a fork in a bowl to allow easier mixing. Set aside.
Slice carrot and cook as normal with peas. Drain. Set aside.
Saute onion in marg/butter till soft add milk (amount depends on how many you are cooking for).
Mix cornflour & curry powder together with a little milk to make a smooth paste. Add to milk & onion (make sure you take milk of the stove first) stir till it thickens. If not thick enough mix more cornflour. Add tuna and fold in gently. Add cooked carrot and peas.
    Serve with rice.
