The Fastest I've Ever Gone In A Land Vehicle

    That's around 196mph.

It averaged between 312 and 317 once it got out in the open.

Took the bullet train from Paris to Frankfurt today.

I'm going to upload a video of it tonight.

All I can say is I Want One!!!

A little under 4 hours, but that includes a stop in Mannheim (it goes south of Frankfurt to Mannheim, then reverses all the way to Frankfurt on a different track). With no stops it would have been 3 or less.

It slows to around 125kph when going through several town along the way.

I'm just amazed they don't kill animals left and right as in many areas there isn't a fence keeping stuff off the tracks.

If it did hit a deer it probably knock it 100 yards straight up.

is it loud on there and is there a lot of movement in the car at those speeds? Seems like at those speeds the expansion joints would be almost a constant clackety clack and something that tall and skinny would have a lot of rocking going on.

    Very smooth and quiet.

This train has the adjustable suspension that lets it lean into a turn, so it doesn't have to slow down as much. You can feel the train lift slightly on a side as it goes into a turn.

Watching the expansion joint between cars it looks like a lot of motion. I tried to video the motion but it barely shows at all on camera.

Much roomier and more comfortable than a plane. And the ticket was 113 Euro (around $160) so much cheaper than a plane too.

about the same noise you would expect on a plane. Not too loud, but yeah they are really fast. I rode the same route he did back in the late 90's and it leaves an impression on you for sure.

Looks like I'll be on the 330kph (205mph) train from Cologne, Germany to Paris later this week.

    It is the Thalys.

Really enjoying Hamburg. It's MUCH cleaner than Paris.

Saw a bit of weirdness yesterday though.

Here's a hot German girl protesting how chickens are packaged. You can't see it in the photo but apparently the chickens get an iPod to listen to while saran wrapped.

It was about 35 degrees outside and she was shivering like a chihuahua. She kept yelling for her helpers to hurry and wrap the plastic over her.

There were actually 4 protesters, 2 girls and 2 guys, wrapped in plastic, but this was only one i wanted a photo of.

She was wearing a flesh colored sports bra, so boobage compressed.

The price on her label was only 18 Euros.

I might have picked it up, but the wife just wouldn't understand.

"But Honey, it was a GOOD deal!"

Right, thats a lot of meat for that price. It would last weeks if you cut it up right... probably pretty tender too.
