Farewell Jeremy Clarkson
Sacked By BBC
While I confess that I enjoyed his hosting of Top Gear, I think this was the right thing to do.
I wonder if The other 2 will stay on or a whole new crew will take over?
I never watch the US Top Gear.
Watched a few episodes and one of the hosts (guy with the beard) just constantly and completely ruined the show for me.
The other 2 were OK but never did I see the entertaining banter between them that is a hallmark of the BBC version.

This may be the death of the top gear we know. Clarkson is a very important part of that trio and I just don't know who they can get to replace him and still have good dynamics that work. The other two are up for renewals also on their contracts this year so I'm curious to see how it goes with them.
Rutledge isn't as bad on his own. He's done quite a bit of car shows over the years with Speed. Alot involving nascar. But with trying to compete with Tanner and Adam he doesnt stand a chance. As for a new season it's coming back far as I know. Runs something like June through october/novmeber. Season 4 wrapped up last November I think. Tanner is the real car guy so he's interesting to listen to. The other two just seem like they are there for comedic relief.Last edited by raynor139; 03-25-2015 at 07:50 AM.

Tanner always just sounds like a whinny little douche to me. Rutledge is a big goof. Adam makes me laugh occasionally. Not even close to the same level as UK Top Gear.
Well the greatest car show the world has ever seen is now coming to an end. It had to happen sometime. Just didn't think it would go out like this.Last edited by Zinergy; 03-25-2015 at 08:02 AM.

I'm really curious to see what the backlash for BBC is. When even sites like theChive (look it up if you have never heard of it. One of their slogans is "My drinking club has a charity problem." Bunch of guys doing good deeds who never left that college mentality.) were getting involved in supporting Clarkson you know it's going to be a long ride for the BBC.

I watch the American one just to see what they'll do next. Humor is ok, but miss the star on the track stuff. Wish they go back to more car/track stuff vs how to co-op Monster Garage themes.
Monster Garage - I really miss that show.

I found that show both amusing and annoying at the same time.

I heard Clarkson in talks with Netflix. It's hard to imagine them not working together

Star in a reasonably priced car bullshit. I don't want to sit around watching what a Toyota Camry can do. I own one, it aint much.

Netflix can (and should) throw a bunch of money at the three of them to do a new show. This was totally Clarkson's fault, but the three of them had great chemistry and really made it into something. I hope they get back on the air soon, and are able to do the show the way it should be done (much like the old one) and with little or no censorship
and on a side note:

If the original trio does do a Netflix version, it would probably sink the US version.
Though I'm sure a Netflix version would use a name that somehow reminds viewers of the Top Gear title without actually saying Top Gear.
