Red- 99 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28
Is this a factory optioned hood for a lt trans am?
my cousin just scooped up this t/a and he swears up and down its a factory hood. i beg to differ, he claims theirs paper work with the car that claims the wheels, and hood and other options were factory add on parts.....to me that hood is just a copy of the ls t/a ws6 hood.and from the pic you could see the corners by the headlights is somewhat raised, like a cheap copy... am i wrong here or what?

Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6
Im inclined to agree its a copy seen that style on lt1 camaros and 3rd gens before. Also def not a T/A. Like sjsingle said its probably a formula someone has added on to.

i never really studied the lt t/a's firebirds, or formulas. im more of a camaro guy, and stufy the ls's mainly. lol but yea that hood doesnt look right to me at all....im thinking it may have had a gm addon ram air hood, and possibly wrecked at one time, and replaced with thi one, or they just replaced it, but the corners being higher really says something tho

I'm no expert but I would go all in (Pot commited) that isn't a stock hood!

Yeah if that has an LT1 it's a Formula as it has the "coupe" front bumper, hood, and rear hatch/spoiler. That or someone wrecked it front and back and replaced those parts with base coupe/formula (same looking) body parts over the Trans Am ones lol.

TRIPLE BLACK- 2000 CAMARO SS M6 #2100
I wanna say that suncoast creations was the first to make that hood for the LT1 cars but Im sure there are many others by now that do that style but it def isnt stock though. Also like others have said its not a TA but a Formulsa. Look at the drivers side headlight cover, its even says formula on it. If speedlines ever came on LT1s I have never seen them but I think those were added afterwards too. Maybe what he means is that the dealership that sold him this ‘used’ car put this stuff on there, idk.

It's a formula/firebird front bumper and hatch/spoiler combo. The hood appears aftermarket, and never (to my knowledge) did any LT cars ever come factory equipped with the Speedline wheels of the LS 4th gen cars. I'd be inclined to consider it a Formula, not a Trans Am. The Trans am would have had the TA bumpers front and back along with sideskirts and the taller spoiler.

I had a 95 Formula that I had a Suncoast hood put on..
Mine had scoops like the car in this picture which I downloaded today, but shortly after I did purchased my hood, Suncoast came out with the "newer" style scoops like one you show on your brother's.

NO LT1 cars EVER came with that hood. PERIOD. that is a suncoast creations hood.
only 1 car came with speedlines and it was 1995 comp TA (also came with hood and stripe):

it is a formula. if you look at the driver side headlight it says FORMULA. i had a 95 formula. i remember that sticker! should also be one in the pass side rear bumper. if it says FORMULA V8 then it is a 93 or 94.
looks like it just says formula so it is a 95, 96 or 97

well what pissed me off, was he had the car 1 day and was trying to school me on the history of the f body and what not. ive had mine for close to 7 years, he told me it was a t/a but i also noticed the formula badge. he said its a 97, and his know it all wife told me the hood, wheels, were factory add ons as they have paper work for it. i told themn id bet the value of the car on the fact that that hood is aftermarket and they brought up the whole original owner asked for a add on hood, which could have been the ram air hood shown a few posts up, but definatly not this hood. lol
