facebook is not completely useless......
I signed up a month or two ago just to check it out. Pretty useless IMO and full of the gayness with the farming horse shit and happy hour horse shit. It's like one big lop of spam and pop ups. I sign on about once a week.
Last night I decided to try to look up a buddy of mine I lost contact with about 1991. He was in the Navy ROTC at OSU and moved after graduation to FL. to go to flight school. I moved a time or two and we just lost touch. I found his wife on there last night and she sent me a message back. They're back here now living a couple hours north. I'm looking forward to talking to him. Been a long time.

I was just tracked down by a friend I have not seen since 1992... the internet does have its uses (besides surfing LS1.com and porn, of course). I intentionally avoid all the MySpace, Facebook, Classmates, and other crap. That stuff is just evidence awaiting a case to me.

agreed. IMO if it was ever even all that good, its not what it used to be. Sites like myspace and facebook were initially created so you could either meet new friends, talk to current ones, or reaquaint with old ones. But like anything else, people, companies, musicians etc found that its a free way to sell crap, push crap, "nework", and just make money in general. So its overrun with people pushing their shit and not about meeting and talkin to friends anymore. Sure you can do that, but lets say a single guy wants to find a single slut i mean girl and have a night of physical fun no strings attached like the good old days.... doesnt happen anymore. but i dont know shit about doing stuff like that. not at all

Facebook is really only good for killing time at work. That's pretty much the only time I use it.

Suggestion: If you are particularly irritated by another member's posting habits and are constantly fighting the urge to flame them, you can click on that person's profile, and select "Add to ignore list." This will make that person's posts invisible to you.
