Power steering is electrical. Havent been able to determine what component is at fault. Taking it to gm will run me from 600 to 2000. F that noise.
Its a very common problem so hopefully someone here knows

There is a bulletin about it but no actual recall, gm is being a whore making excuses. warranty covers it for 3years/36,000 miles. My whore is at 36,502

fuses, relays, etc all good? that's a rather important system so there has to be some redundancy in it if it's electrical. if a fuse were to blow something would have to back it up so that 80 pound granny doesn't piledrive into a herd of kids crossing the street to school.

any broken wires or shorts etc? what about a sensor on the pump or steering system having gone bad?

We've had a few do the same thing that come into the dealership. I don't service them but I can tell you that almost everyone that comes in with the same problems have the power steering motor replaced.

are you a good customer of the dealer? they might goodwill it if its a known issue. You are just barely out of warranty. If this is a common problem GM needs to pony up and fix this cause its a safety issue. Normally an auto manufacturer will take care of issues like this past the warranty period if they get enough people bitching about it. I have heard that this particular model has a lot of electrical issues.
