Nothing like someone in the media ( who writes for a living) bashing on someone else for sounding like a dumbass when this sentence is in their first paragraph.....
"So, can the average East Texan could make sense of today's college slang? "

What happened to good old english without sounding like a retard? Bromance????sounds a little gay if you ask me! We are always saying speak the language or go home right? Maybe we should start listening to ourselves to. Chillax? What happened to just godd old calm down or relax? Sorry guys but , why even bother going to school anymore? You come home after spending all that money and you still sound stupid!!!! I don't know, maybe I just don't get it anymore........goodbye world

It's all part of the "fast paced" lives that the next generation (typically the millenials or those born after 1982) is evolving into. Take texting for example: It's basically how condensed can you make a sentence type of communication. Chillax is a good example as it's "chill out" and "relax" condensed down to "chillax". Bromance also is "brother" and "romance".
Although I choose not to use it in most of my daily communication with others of my age group it's nice to know what others (younger folks mostly) are saying even if it sounds like a foreign language.
