it's an LT1 engine, so yeah...they're fast. but most aren't modded [we know yours is, sarge..], so no they aren't at their full potential.

Wouldn't that depend ? Aren't the 96 6spds LT4'S ? Good motor there. Those are fairly quick.

my 01 lightning would hang pretty good with my uncles 94 vette. it ran a 13.80

I took it to prom in 96 and 97 and it was fun as shit. automatic, but had zero problems getting incredibly sideways.

My dad just sold his 86 for 4500, I raced a 97 intrepid with it once, smoked him too

It was just a tpi so it was pretty lame. Dad also talked smack on the Z but he would never race.

Yeah, i have a 92 but it's not stock. It has a forged 383 in it with a built trans.

Best part about them i think is the handling. People can throw up all the numbers they want to disprove me if they wish but those things drive on rails. Hell of a lot more nimble than my 99 Z28.

ZR-1's are monsters. im not sure but i think they are rated at 4.1 sec 0-60 stock.
they are definately one of my favorites. too bad i cant fit in em. 6'5'' 250 lbs

the later years ZR1 are rated at 405 hp.... i'm not sure what they put down to the earth though... i raced a zr1 in my t/a and barely pulled on him... we both had some massive traction problems... he had full exchaust (open cut outs kick ASS!!!) and he ported his own heads...

we went for another run but he glazed over his clutch and i pulled on him by 4 cars from 40 -120...
