    Engine identification

Here is an engine identification game I came across on another site. Let's see how well you younguns know your American Iron.

    http://www.americantorque.com/game/

FWIW, I got 17 out of 18 correct.

The coolest thing about that was #17. My dad had a dodge pheonix that had that 413 in it.

I actually learned a lot while playing that game. For instance exhaust spacing, distributer locations, and valve cover design. Very cool game.

The really odd thing about the 348/409 was that the deck is machined at 74 degrees (vs 90) to the cylinder bore centerline. The heads have no combustion chamber. Instead the wedge formed by the piston in the bore is the combustion area. Higher compression ration was created by the use of a pop-up piston.
