    Exclamation Egr ?

I have a hose going from the crankcase to my intake which is obvious part of the egr system. I kinda understand why its there but it also sends oil etc.. back into the throttle body. What would happen if I just put a filter at the end of the crankcase and the run a hose from the intake to the front of the engine and put another filter on there so its getting cooler air and no oil? Also why is it after the maf? Is any what little air it gets from the case unmetered air? Thanks for the reply's. This is for my maxima by the way but figured it was a general question and would apply to other engines.

    It isn't the EGR.

I believe you are thinking PCV. Many people run a catch can inline.

Yeah that what I was thinking. So is what I did going to hurt anything? Same pricinple, instead of a catch can I have a filter as long as I keep up with it.

The filters are normally only for drag cars.
