Dumbass at autozone...
So today I stopped in to Autozone to have them run diagnostics on my formula. The guy that did the scan started talking to me about what i had done to my car. After I tell him, I asked what kind of car he had. His repsonse was this: "Ive got a 98 Z28, when i got it, it had a 350 in it. So I took that out and put in an LS1 and changed the cam out. Now its putting about 550 to the wheels." At this point its taking all I have not to laugh at him in his face in plain daylight. Why are people so dumb? And why does it seem they all work at auto parts stores?

now, before jumping the gun. Perhaps it spun a bearing ( which 98's are known to do from time to time) and whoever replaced it put in an LT-1 or a small block. Probably not the case but possible.

Wow...Autozone workers at their finest LOL....reminds me of the manager at a gas station I stopped at a couple months ago: he saw my car right outside and starts talking to me about it and what mods I'd done, etc. THEN he goes on to say "Yeah, I just got rid of my Trans Am a little while back. It's a shame too since I had swapped out that old LS1 for the LT1....DAMN it hauled ass after switching to the LT1."
It makes you wonder why people that don't have a clue about Trans Ams/Camaros would try to act like they are an expert on them when they're talking to someone that actually owns these cars!

If you can tie your shoes you can work at autozone/pepboys. I was once given the wrong brake pads twice at pep boys and the second time I returned to the store the guy told me that he gave me the right pads and that maybe I had brakes from a different car.

Sorry to thread jack but
Do 98s have a bearing issue???

98's have an oiling and rod bolt issue which has been known to lead to a bearing issue. Both were addressed in later years.
