Drunk driver kills 4 teens 1 mile from my house.
This is very sad. I did not know any of the victims, as they were quite younger than I, and still in High School.
Victims were 19, 16, 16, and 15. They were on their way pick up a pizza, sitting in a turn around, waiting for the light to turn. The driver that hit them was driving a full size van, and reports say she was going between 60-80mph when she hit them. 3 of them died instantly, while the driver hung on until just after 5:00 am this morning.
Here is a link to the full story, along with video reports from the scene to the right of the page:

My brother told me that he had hung out with the driver (one of the victims) a few times.
I literally drove past the scene about 30 minutes ago. I had to go up to the local mall, which is right where the accident happened. I saw where the drunk drivers tire marks led, and had she been only 2 feet to the left...all 4 kids would still be alive right now. She missed the huge light pole, and all the street signs and hit nothing but the teenagers car. I couldn't believe how close she was to everything and missed it all.
To the innocent victims, may you rest in peace.Last edited by kickflippin1; 03-17-2009 at 03:27 PM.

That's crazy.
Reminds me of a Brand New concert I saw at the Congress Theater in Chicago. Their lead singer Jesse Lacey was talking about how their song Limousine was written. It went something like this.
"A twelve year old girl lived down my street. It was her birthday and her mom rented her a limousine for her and her friends. After the day was over, all her friends had been dropped off, and the limousine was driving down her street when a drunk driver hit the limousine head on going 70 mph. Her mom ran out, and cradled her daughters decapitated head like a baby, until the firefighters pried her off."
It made the song more intense than it already was.

Maybe it was the limousine driver that was drinking. Can't remember, but whatever, good song.

I think about things like this sometimes (the accident that happened by my house). Even though I had no relation or connection to these people, I feel horrible that this happened. I mean, none of them even got to say goodbye to each other. Not to their parents, not to their friends...nobody. I mean, I know they didn't know it was going to happen, but still.

Yeah man. I can definitely relate. My two buddies and I in the accident, we have this one mutual friend Scott, and we're like one unit, close-knit friends. He only heard the bad details of the accident, and thought we were all dead. His three best friends, gone. We tricked him though. But those teens weren't so lucky. Hopefully something good comes out of the tragedy.

The song Sowing Season is a great drunk driving song, too.

Same here. On the news they had some video of them at the scene of the accident this morning. They talked to an aunt, a cousin, and a mother of the victims. They couldn't stop crying. I felt like crying just by watching it and seeing a glimpse of what they were going through. It really is heartbreaking.
I feel for the families, but I feel more for the ones that died. They were so young....not even out of high school yet. The oldest was 19 and he was in an alternative school, and of the other three, the oldest ones were sophomores. They barely got to experience anything.
