Driving around looking for cheapest gas!
Seems like an oxymoron, to drive around town, burning fuel, looking for the cheapest gas. You could burn enough fuel to cancel any savings you might find.
Yet, after work tonite, I might be doing just that. I've got about an 1/8th tank left, and I'm going to go look for the cheapest premium. Last time I filled up, 91 was at $3.299 and it was just over $40 to fill up.
I found a 76 Unocal station at the north end of town where it's "only" $3.199 (according to http://www.automotive.com/gas-prices/). I'm hoping to find a station with premium in that range along the way. If not, I will have driven approximately 10 miles out of my way to get this gas. Other stations are selling 91 in my area at an average of $3.379 or so.
Any1 else burn fuel looking for cheap gas? It's nuts!
god this sucks!

Same prices here. I paid $3.199 for mid grade for my truck. Just under 40 gallons, $120. It lasts about a week with all the running around that I do.

is it really worth driving the extra 10 miles out of your way to save the extra $1.50 or $2.00 for an entire tank of gas?
I mean, people look at the per gallon price, see a 10 cent difference, and freak. But even at 10 cents a gallon, 15 gallons later, you only saved a whopping $1.50. Just go to the place with good "Top Tier" rated gasolines. You engine will run better, get better mileage off that gas and you saved yourself a trip accross town (20 mile round trip). Which is probably a gallon of gas. So it actually cost you money to drive the extra distance.
