Don't you love drivers this time of year?
Last week I purchased a 2007 dodge ram that belonged to a neighbor or mines son, who passed away last month. Saturday on my way home from work I was excited because I had a fine ass date and was taking her to the club for a friends birthday. Well I'm on the main road in the left lane and I'm coming up to the light maybe 50 yards ahead of me when I notice this idiot doing a u-turn is not stopping so I jerk the wheel of my truck to the right to try and avoid him but he was going too fast. He slammed my driver side between the end of the back door and the front of my rear tire. The back of my truck got air born, and went up onto a curb. I did a complete 180 in the
Middle of the road. The whole crew at a jiffy lube saw the whole thing and ran to help me. I was fine, when I got out to look at the damage I was pissed. Drive shaft was hanging down, rear end detached from the leaf springs, both rear wheels bent, back door pushed in a bit, corner of the can got pushed in, bed side took a solid hit and one of the leafs from my leaf spring was found 100 feet away. The other vehicle was a chevy Yukon driven by a 18-19 year old that was texting...idiot! If I had been in my 280zx this could have been fatal
The day I got it

Sucks man.. Aswell as unfortunate, because the insurance co. will likely fix it and it will always be a "wrecked" truck now..

But on the bright side the bodyshop will actually use good paint that won't oxidize in 3 yrs. If they don't total it.

Not all Gm's are that way but there are plenty that are.. Early 90's it was hit or miss with GM.. Then they were okay for a few years then hit and miss again..
My 92 z34 has excellent factory finish, other w-bodies from the same years were not so lucky some lasted some did'nt..Last edited by Smittro; 12-20-2010 at 03:56 PM.

That sucks. And to make matters worse is the fact that folks are so callous toward the safety of others. It's like they have that false sense of security that their insurance will pay for it...but if POINTS are involved...oh boy.

Guess they don't teach new drivers to yield on a green left turn anymore. Pisses me the hell off and then the look at you like you're the ass which tops it. Sorry about your rig bro but at least you didn't die right?

As a previous body shop estimator I can say that its likely totalled. Who knows what kind of frame damage and suspension damage there is along with probably replacing the bed, doors and fixing the cab corner and blending.

Bed just needs a side, replacing the door, cab corner leaf spring, shook and 2 wheels. Axel is straight and frame is Un touched. I got lucky.

Yeah man, I know how you feel. I'v been saving to get the rust holes fixed on my d/d 92 Yukon 2dr. for a while. I finally get the truck back last week after having the bodyshop also strip the hood and repaint it due to some major rock rash and lack of waxing ( my fault ). The hood looked great along with the rest of the truck up until yesterday morning. I got up about 9:00 am, looked out the window and some FN asshole had his external spare tire jammed up against my hood!! Literally, by the time I put pants on and ran downstairs the fucker was gone. Of course the brand new paint is all scratched to shit where his tire was rubbing against it while the jackwagon was backing into the spot. I just CAN'T WAIT to see this piece of shit truck parked somewhere. Major revenge/ payback time!! Sorry for your hit, yours is a WEEEEEE bit worse than mine but at least you're OK. Sue the shit out of the kid, his parents, the phone co. he was texting on, EVERYBODY!!.
