by FCC law all cb's are made to push 4 watts .............. I think u can have then peaked and tweaked to push around 30 watts (been a while since I messed with them) The more expensive ones have more features thats all
also u can get a linear amp and really boost the power 200+
yes the higher the antenna the better......wilson makes a good one and also k40. probally more, I have not kept up with the stuff in a few years
local cb repair shops might can tell u where to peak yours and get an amp
for about $60 more u can get a cobra 29 classic which is a real good cb radio

cobra makes a decent cb. Depends really what you're gonna use it for. I've had tons of cb shit over the years. I still have a 300 watt base linear in the garage that I haven't turned on in probably 15 years. I don't even know if it still works. I was always a fan of cobra LTD's. I always had an amp on mine too. Check ebay. I've seen people on there selling linears.

http://www.wilsonantenna.com/w500.htm
I run a wilson 500 antenna and a small cobra cb(model unknown) and works great. Its a a tall antenna yes, but it works really well on my truck.....i have had it on my trans am before
It works great to ask semi drivers where cops are and where to keep eye out for them.High revving TPI........wait oxymoron?

I got rid of all my stuff over the years. I still have a couple of things sitting around but nothing good. The last one I got rid of was a nice push/pull solid state mobile linear. It had 3 settings and I think they were 100-150-200 but it's been quite a while back when I had it. Wish I still had that stuff though.
