It depends....nowadays law enforcement technology is almost as advanced or as good as the publics protection (radar detectors) depending on the agency and what their budget is... for example in our agency we have radar detectors that to be put in easy terms....have a "mute button" which temporarily turns them off, and they can be activated again....so your radar will let u know..., but by then it might be too late...kinda like a laser works....but i would say to buy one....cuz you never know....some cops just like to sit and hide and put their radar on and read a mag...so its best if u do...

Yes they do work with the exceptions that burn listed.
The trick is having a good model with lots of range so that you do get warned when the trigger operated rader is used on another car ahead of you whether it is laser or photo radar.

don't think you are totally safe with one. you can get busted with instant-on, or not watching and cop comes up behind you (happened to me). but I have been saved by mine too. I would say that the #1 tool to avoid cops is still your eyes. the detector is just more info for you to utilize.

like i said highly illegal and just cuz its not available to general public u dont think for one second that someone in the general public can get their hands on it or anything else not available to the general public. i knew a guy a long time ago that was gettin military issued products and sellin them on the streets. so u tell me just cuz its not available not able to get it
