Disabilities....who has them and what are they?
Please take this thread seriously.
I have hearing problems and I been wearing hearing aids for the last 5 years. I was born like that.
I have 3 herniated disks in my back.
and I have Vasovagal Syncope Disorder.
My hearing is the worse...I hate to have to depend on my hearing aids.
Alright if you have them, spill them.

well, ive got a fucked up right elbow. locks up on me all the time(specially in the mornins) painfull as shit(have to rub/massage it for a few minutes before it will move agian). cant straighten it all the way, or rotate my arm when it is straightened out(as it can get). by this i mean, say you straighten out your arm, while it is fully exteded(straight), rotate your wrist to the right(using right arm as example). i can go about a quarter of the way, compared to my left arm i can extend it and rotate my wrist and it will be flat. when i try this on my right arm, it looks like im trying to shake your hand.
this started when i was about 8 or 9. i played both baseball and football. baseball was my favorite though. went to a few dr's. all of them said i had tennis elbow and to not really worry about it. well, the pain didnt go away. went back to see my doctor 6 or so months after and he took some more x-rays and diagnosed me with a rare disease(osteoschloris of the latarel condyle)or something like that. eats away my cartiladge etc....also noticed that bone from my wrist to my elbow was growing faster than the bone from my shoulder to my elbow which explained why my elbow would "lock up" and i wouldnt be able to move it at all(i would have to rub/massage for a few minutes before it would loosen back up and i could move it).
no cure for it, and he(my dr/surgeon) also noticed signs of arthritis on my elbow when i went in for my 2nd operation on it to shave off some of my forearm bone. this was about 3 years ago. also had surgery on it when i was like 12 or so.
its been a real pain in the ass/bummer since i started having problems with it when i was 8 or so.
i will never forget how devastated i was when i went to have a check up on it and found out i had to have my first surgery(at around 11-12yo). that wasnt what really devastated me(yea it scared me-the thought of surgery) but he also said i would never be able to play baseball agian because of the stress of throwing a baseball would have on it. i was so bummed/upset/devastated after hearing that.
baseball was my life when i was younger. my dad coached my team from the time i was 3(t-ball) up until i was 11(kid-pitch).
i played shortstop.
kind of off topic from originial subject, but thought of it because i was thinkin back to when i was that age. thing i think was/is pretty cool is when i was 7 i won the Broken Arrow Sportsmanship Award. had my picture and story on the first page of the Sports section, and also received a 3 foot trophy.
^^this resulted from a broken leg i had when i was 7. i broke my femur in my right leg when i was 7. i had a full legnth leg cast(from my hip to my foot was in cast). i still played while i had the cast on though. i would be a pinch hitter. when i got a hit, i would "wobble" (cast and all) to first and then have a pinch runner come in for me.Last edited by Boomer Sooner; 09-16-2008 at 02:19 PM.

Both of my ankles are basically full of metal. I have limited movement of my left foot. I can't be on it for more than 8 hours and I have to watch how much I use it or it will swell up and not move at all. Supposedly, in the future, they will have to glue my ankle to my leg because the cartilage will be gone. I can't run and I can't walk on hills. Only semi flat ground. But I can still slam gears!!

I've got Mitral Valve Prolapse. It's a type of heart murmur where the blood backwashes into my heart every time it pumps due to a "floppy" heart valve. It isn't too bad, but sometimes my heart skips a bunch of beats and it hurts. I'm also blind as a bat. My hand gets blurry if it's a foot from my face. Besides that I'm pretty healthy.

Bad hearing. Ive got 35% loss of low-tone hearing in the left and 38% loss in low tones in the right ear. I can't hear very well, throw in some background noise (concert, music at a bar, lots of people talking etc) and I can't hear a thing.
The heart murmur thing sounds like what I feel a lot, its been going on for like 3 years and it seems worse lately. I should probably get it checked out. My heart starts beating faster/harder and it gives me some chest pain, feels like i can't breathe and rarely i'll get the black-out effect.
