    Direct TV or Dish Network

Never had satellite before. Don't need/want HDTV. Anyone have experience?

    Dishnetwork FTMFW!!!!!!!!!

Direct TV is very confusing to use and pretty retarded. Dishnetwork is simple and has more of a choice IMHO.

I got Dish here, and no major fubars so far (9+ years). I love having the local channels in HD. Trust me, once you have HD, you can hardly stand to watch the other channels.

Very cool. From the little research I had done online it looked like Dish Network was the better choice. Thanks

I have had both, started with DirecTV and switched to Dish. The only thing that DirecTV is better for is if you are going to get the NFL Season Ticket package, otherwise dish has all the options and more for less money....dish is a better deal. Dish Network has all of the other major sports networks( NFL channel, NBA, all the espn's, Tennis, golf, Fox Sports network and alternatives,etc...)

i had Dish for 4-5 years and dropped them like a bad habit when they took my CBS channel from Dallas away no more free Cowboys games. i have had directv for about 3 years and i would say that one is just as good as the other with Directv being a little more $$ but you get what you pay for. both of them scatter their most popular channels into different packages to force you to have to upgrade to the next programming package to get more money out of ya dish is the worst about it cost me an extra $10 to get the channel i wanted when Directv had it in the basic package .... bastards

I've sold both systems and owned both, I prefer DirecTv. Dish tends to go out more often when it rains.

We have dish and its pretty good, we also installed them for about 10 years and damn they suck as far as needing help or activating or pretty much calling them at all, we eventually quit selling them to big of a hassle.

I had Dish Network when I was able to steal bin files. Now you can't do that anymore so I'm back to cable. I swear, even thogh it didn't cost me anything, I would get soooo pissed everytime it rained or snowed or got really overcast because I would loose a signal until the weather passed. No way in hell would I pay for dish service of any kind.

My dish service is pretty good it goes out 2 or three times per year for me...only when it is pouring or a very heavy snow storm.....never has gone out from being windy or overcast. I think that has to do with location of your dish and how well it is tuned in to that specific satellite.......strength of signal makes a big difference if it isn't perfectly clear out........
