I like Sony. It has the Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar® Lens. Larger LCD Screen

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

i'd go with sony too, i've had one of theirs for over 4 years now and it never ceases to amaze me. anytime you see "digital zoom" it's totaly fake-the "optical zoom" is more more important.

    difference:
optical-telescopes the lens out to acheive a zoom
digital-camera actually blows up pixels to simulate a zoom" causing polarization and crappy images.

Get a Nikon D70 or Nikon D2X. Can't go wrong with either.

Congrats adn glad you like it.

I have the NIKON D70 and love it. With a 1 gig card I can have 553 pics stored and they are all 6Mp (3000x2000).

    Damn fine camera.

It iw what you like that matters, and if you are happy with what you have, then that is all that matters.

    Nikon D100

I wish!. . .Ha Ha. No really. We use the Nikon D100 Digital SLR's at work for our Digital Closeout photography for Orbiter Launch Processing.

Excellent Camera. But it is an SLR and they are Big and Heavy compared to the Little digital models.

My personal camera is an Old Sony DSC-S50 2.1 MP. It takes great pictures, but it's a 2.1 Megga Pixel, nuf said .

For the best quality out of the box, and the best support after the sale, buy Canon. Specifically buy the Canon S2 IS. It has a 12x zoom, takes short movies too, and has image stabilization (IS). It runs on 4 AA rechargable batteries. Buy yourself a 1Gig card and take hundreds of pics before you have to erase the card and start over. The Zoombrowser software that comes with the S2 is great.

You want to get a camera with the higher optical zoom. Once you start using the digital zoom the picture quality goes south fast.

I have the kodak dx7590. It is a very good camara. It is 5mg with a 10 zoom. but what ever you get read the directions very well before you start useing it. these camars do so many things and have so many hidden buttons and such nowday. I have only taken still pictures of things so far. I But it came with shareware , which is like a mini photoshop. It depends how seriouse you want to go with the pic and how many you plan to take
