Diesel Trucks
As some of you may know, all of the Big 3 have programs for half ton diesel trucks. All 3 of them have canceled or placed on indefinite hold the programs for these trucks. I emailed GM about this and their response was they did not see enough demand to justify the program.
Anyway I was searching today and came across this petition for a diesel half ton truck, if any of you are interested in a diesel half-ton truck please take 1-2 minutes to sign this petition. I'm not saying it will help bring out a diesel truck but it couldn't hurt if there is this petition with lots of sigs.

I'd hold off a new Ford diesel. They're gonna be making it themselves so hopefully it turns out much better than the 6.4 and 6.0

I don't like the idea of spending allot of money on trucks, $40,000+ I be afraid to beat on it... But that being said, and this contract gets signed. I will be buying a 2000 Ford F-250 LWB Cab and Half, 4x4 powerstroke (73,xxx miles). Just pay cash, it's cheap because they have ton of them and well, it's a work truck. Everything checks out, clean as truck with maintenance history.

Not really, talking about Diesel trucks and newer/possibly coming trucks. My idea, unless they really go down in price. It's hard to justify spending that much on a new truck and really using it... Plus it seems some of the newer ones are not as great as the older ones...

i'd rather have a 7.0L gas job with cylinder shut off. all the power a half ton needs with good mileage. and a hell of alot cheaper repairs than a diesel.

Alright that's nice and don't give a shit. I just don't see the point in spending a fortune on a truck, when you can get the above listed for under $12,000. Even under $10,000 if you look. Easily able to save cash and pay off. Then at the point who cares what the gas mileage is, it's paid for.

they wont make a 1500 diesel because it would get good fuel mileage and for some reason this is frowned upon in the US / diesels being frowned upon because they are the 100% dominant power plant for economy and power....
just imagine a 1500 diesel 2wd, can you say lightning killer? srt-10 killer?...

not for nothing! I've been a die hard Chevy guy, but I've been looking for a Dodge 2500 Diesel 4+4 (1994-2002 preferably a 24 valve). the truck just has a reputation for being solid and not to mention looks bad ass.

toyota has been selling the Hilux with a diesel for years every where but her. i would really think twice about buying a toyota truck now. Im just pissed with the lack of common sense in regards of fuel economy, bio-fuels,and reliability. in a performance minded car theirs no question i would want a gas engine. But, a truck, or even a daily driver i would like to have a diesel i would strongly consider making bio-diesel. I strongly believe that "people In high positions" are shrinking the Diesel market in the US for capital gain.
