did they make F-Bodies with LT-4s?

I was just looking at f-bods around my area for sale and saw this one, I'm not calling him a liar I just didn't realize they put LT-4s in F-Bods ever.

Dont recall them putting them in 96 models?? In 97 they put it in 100 SS's all white with the hugger stripes and about 50 Firehawks.

I think there was also a VERY small number of Firehawks with an LT4 spaz.

If I remember correctly there were a few hundred LT4 SS Camaros and less than 50 LT4 Firehawks. Come to think of it I remember a thread here a LONG time ago of some guy trying to get 40,000$ on ebay for his LT4 Firehawk with less than 1,000 miles.

    LT4
The LT4 was a special high-performance version of the new-generation LT1. With the addition of a slightly more aggressive camshaft profile, new higher-lift rocker arms and better-flowing intake manifold and cylinder heads, it was specified to produce 330 hp (243 kW) and 340 ft.lbf. (459 Nm) of torque (although these numbers were likely underrated in order to "protect" the upcoming LS1's power rating). It was introduced in the 1996 model year, for the last year of the C4 Corvette, and came standard on all manual transmission (ZF 6-speed equipped) C4 Corvettes. The engine was passed down to special versions of the Camaro and Firebird the next model year.

The LT4 was available on the following vehicles:

1996 Chevrolet Corvette when equipped with 6-speed manual transmission (includes all Grand Sports) (Production: 6,359)
1997 Chevrolet Camaro SLP/LT4 SS 6-speed (Production: 100 for the U.S. and 6 for Canada)
    1997 Pontiac Firebird SLP/LT4 Firehawk 6-speed (Production: 29)
All 135 production engines for the Firehawks and Camaro SS were completely disassembled, balanced, blueprinted and honed with stress plates. One in 5 engines was tested on a Superflow engine dyno and every car was tested on a chassis dyno in addition to performing a short 6 mile road test.

I would guess high 12sec potential. I found a writeup on the LT4 vettes and it seems even shitty magazine drivers pushed them into the 12s so it is reasonable to figure that a similarly equipped fbody could do the same.

    Very rare option indeed.

I am not sure total number as some went to Canada and some went to the USA.

@ 91Z28 ~ I remember that thread as well but I cannot remember if it met the reserve and actually got sold?

but the car listed originally is claimed to be a 96 model , whats listed here says in 96 only the vettes had the LT4

there were 110 LT4 Camaro SS's produced in 1997. They were the 330hp enigne. 100 of those are in the US and the remaining 10 were produced for Canada...

they were all white, hardtop (coupes), with the orange stripes (only in the 30th Ann. cars). they had badging on the rear that read LT4/330hp and on the "B" pillar that read LT4...

i do not know the production numbers for the Firebirds...
