For anything decent and new with good support (both parts and aftermarket) you're going to be looking at 4-500. I've not 'kept up with the times' so to speak, so really my figures could be off. When I bought my first gas powered 1/8th scale buggy back in the day, I had about 500 into it, and thats all bottom of the line stuff.

I don't care about aftermarket. I just wanna have some fun w/one. I am not going to modify it.

My car & gun hobbies take enough $.

I saw some Acme Nitro truck that goes for $150. I was gonna grab one off woot.com today for $100, but they sold out

you get what you pay for in this hobby.

my truck costed $315 new in box. i walked out of the hobby store and spent $450. that includes all of the support equiptment, batteries, chargers, fuel , fuel bottle, new wheels and tires, and glow plugs.

its is so worth it. seriosuly, the better truck you start out with, the more happy you will be.
