    Dealership caught in the act

It would be beatdown time if this ever happened to one of our cars.

No surprise. Years ago, a guy in our club had a LS1 T/A and had taken it to the local Pontiac dealer for service. I think he thought better of himself the next time after he found out somebody from the shop had been doing burnouts on the back lot in his car.

Also reminds me of the *%@&stick tuner from NC that let one of his employees take a customer's TT Vette home one weekend, only to total it-without the owner's consent, of course.

Doesn't anyone write down their mileage prior to turning it over anymore?

Dealership will be paying to settle if they are smart.

What's tragically funny is the dealership want to sue for recording what happen. I would love to see how that flies in court in front of a jury.

Anyone remember the story of the vette that was destroyed a few yrs ago in a similar circumstance? Something about the shop owner let his mechanic take it for a test drive and then he ate a wall or something. I remember reading it on here, what happen? Did he pay or did it go to court?

Yeah Scott, that was what I was referring to. I can't remember the tuner's name, but I know he was located in North Carolina. One of his employees took a customer's TT Vette home one weekend and totalled it. I remember reading about it over at Tech, among other places. Never did hear the outcome.

Edit: I found the story. The company was Carolina Auto Masters, run by Jeff Creech.

I'm lucky as a couple of good friends that I trust implicitly work at our local dealerships. About the only things I need to use them for are alignments and inspections.

    STEALership Alert!!!!

Saw this on Yahoo news today and figured I'd spread the word so hopefully no one on the forum would fall victim to these jerks. The owner took his 2010 SS in for repair at a GM dealership in Easley SC and the service techs took advantage of his baby. Spread the word about this video so maybe it will get enough attention the stealership will do the right thing and buy this guy a new car. If someone did this to my baby I'd be in jail and the tech would be in a body bag.

Before this turns into a dealership bashing thread, keep in mind, this is an isolated incident. Not all dealers hate their customers and disrespect their property.

No but it boils my blood listening to this fiasco. I did the same thing this owner did when I took my car in for repairs and caught them red handed. Got a free set of tires after twisting some arms. I really hope this guy gets justice after all is said and done.

I don't even use the dealer anymore. Couple of good F-body guys used to work at the Chevy dealer when I had my '01 V6 back years ago so I knew she was in good hands.

Honestly this type of behavior is nothing new. I worked for several GM dealers in the early to late 80's. It was pretty common practice for any of them to beat the crap out of customer cars. They even wrecked a few of them racing around the parking lot, They'd fly around blind corners and hit each other head on

When something hot like a GN would come in for service the tech's would run for the service writer wanting him to give it to them to work on. Next thing you know they are peeling out of the parking lot They'd go out in pairs at lunch time and drag race up and down 275.

I guarantee Andy would be the shit out of my car if I brought it in

At least people know not to go to that dealership.

Over original sticker price? Or what the car was valued at that point in time?

I would have told him 30% or I'm publishing the video. He only got 10% though and published it anyway. He didn't capitalize on the situation. Regardless, still sucks it happened. The owner of that dealership is probably going to get fired, along with the employees if it is corporate owned. If not, I bet their business hurts from this since it went public like it did.
