Anything in the mid-low 600s is not bad, anything higher is better. Why are you asking?

    Sadly now demodded :(

Depends on what you're out for. Higher score = better rate or bigger line of credit. If you're below 350 you're pretty much screwed. I'd use cash or declare bankruptcy at that point. From 350 or so to about 500 or so you can still get credit but you'll sorta get raped on the rate. 500 to about 650 more of the same but slightly better opportunities. Over 650 to about 740 and it's so-so. Not too bad but not the best. Over 740 to about 800 you're gold and they'll extend you most favored nation status. Over that, well let's just say that I went searching for a home equity loan a few months ago and several companies were willing to jump through hoops of flaming fecal matter and give me their 1st born male child to get my business. My score is 820. It doesn't go over 850 that I know of.

Experian, Equifax and TransUnion.... and it makes no difference where you go. The creditor will always take the lowest score and not the average of all three. They're all out to SCREW YOU !

    Mine is 802 BTW....

Yes, a score of 700 does not mean the same across the three.

Equifax ranges from 300 to 850
Experian ranges from 330 to 830 and
TransUnion ranges from 150 to 934

743 here...fyi you can check your credit report for free once a year at each of the 3 major credit companies. So 3 reports for free in all. To get your score it will cost you around 5 bucks or so.

You also have to remember there are 3 different types of credit that goes with a loan.

    House Loan
    Car Loan
    Personal Loan(vacation, home improvement, etc)

Each has its own score and range.

The hardest one to finance is a car because its mobile.
