cop shoots man in the back

Lets talk about this a bit. I typically side with the police but there is no possible way to twist this any other direction than this is a cowardly murder. Shoot a man in the back running away? I hope this guy spends the rest of his life in prison....in general population. In the old days you got hung for shooting a man in the back. I would fully support that for this coward.

The cop should be allowed to try to run from somebody with a gun and then be shot in the back.

Running from the cops is never a good idea, but this man did not do anything to be shot ESPECIALLY in the back...he didn't have a weapon, he wasn't being threatening, and he wasn't aggressive at all. Only thing he did wrong was try and run. Cop should have gave chase and taken him down and nothing more than that...that cop deserves everything he is about to get.

it really doesn't matter to me what this guy did.....no one deserves to be shot in the back. Especially when they run that slow. Cop is charged with murder and rightfully so.

What the hell!? Even I could have chased after that man and taken him to the ground. 8 freaking shots, too. What an asshole. There was no call for that AT ALL... I have no idea what built up to this, but that cop flat out murdered that poor man.

Nothing more to add that was already said. He's going to be popular in prison, heard they may make it a Death Penalty case.

Not that it matters in regards to the outcome but I would like to know if this video was shorten or edited to just the end result. Perspective on all the events matters, not just the end results.

What this guy did was disgrace to other LEO's and they are right to call him out on it.

Even if it was shortened I can't think of anything that could have happened before it started that would justify what happened. If I am being threatened and the aggressor takes off running I can't shoot them while they are fleeing without going to prison. You would be the aggressor at that point.

I looked this up and it seems that the incident began after Mr Scott was pulled over for a broken taillight, local media reported.

A broken freaking tail light. I'd say the death penalty fits here. That was flat out murder.

agree.....there's nothing that could've happened before filming started that would justify 8 shots into the back of a man running away from you. At that point you can't even plead you were fearful of your life....the guy was running away.

Story...notice the first lawyer dumped his ass. I'm sure the cops story was quite a bit different than what was on the tape. The old saying "a dead man tells no tales" still holds true but video is the trump card.

I would be shocked if he gets the death penalty. They'll reference his service to the community etc etc to get a life sentence or maybe even less than that.

He tried to say the guy took his taser. That was his reasoning for shooting him. He even planted it next the guy. Only problem is that he already fired it and one of the barbs was stuck in the guy.

This is one of those cops that makes all other cops jobs hard. He deserves whatever he gets.

Also, it looks to me that the taser was on the ground at his feet as Scott was running away. What could have possibly made him fear for his life and shoot at him like that? He destroyed several lives at that moment for no good reason. His own unborn child will never know him either. This was an unjustifiable act of stupidity.

He'll more than likely be under protection in prison instead of general population to keep people from making every day he sits down very painful.

No way he can be in general population. He'll still get the shit beat out of him, probably often. Like I said, if I were him, I'd probably prefer the death penalty. Solitary for life is worse than being dead...

don't think I favor this guy. He's toast. only thing that will save him from DP is to admit guilt and plead deal for lesser sentence.

I noticed that myself......nothing has been said about a passenger in the car. Even the cops aren't saying anything about the passenger. My guess would be they stayed put and didn't see what happened or took off and no one knew who it was.
