thats not a sonic boom!

they aren't allowed to perform sonic booms for air shows, that F-18 is approaching it tho

Clearly you've never been to the Memorial Day Air Show at Andrews Air Force Base here in Washington, DC. They have the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds both perform each year and both teams break the sound barrier during their performances. The F-14 and F-18 shows have also broken the barrier in the past.

because neither of those are breaking the sound barrier, and they usually dont do this for several reasons including breaking windows or hurting members of the audience

Me? No, it was a loud clap, like a thunder/lightning strike...I know the difference, I think that down here at Andrews, they're allowed to break a few rules since it's the main air base for the Nation's Capitol's protection

this is a sonic boom, so unless it sounded like this it wasnt a sonic boom

it very well could have been, but i'm lead to believe that it wasnt, i could be wrong

I'm currently in the AF, and grew up w/ the AF. We ALWAYS tape up our windows when there's and air show, because the ALWAYS break the sound barrier.
