sounds ok to me.. I might give a hard look to a Samsung... I had a Sceptre that bought the farm and my Samsung is going on 2 years old ....

and my 19" CyberVision CRT is going on 7 years.

And all it cost me was Geforce 1 video card and $100.

my Samsung is 20" but it is a flat screen CRT... The LCD is good if you have a small desk ...

you will not belive how much more you will see on it...only thing is the built in speakers ....Ive got a surround sound with mine ...

personally, i would never buy a monitor with built in speakers. second, i know many of you will disagree but i wouldnt buy technology from a non brand name. it jsut doesnt strike me as a good idea, (i bought a no name tv for my dorm room and it lasted one semester) especially when it comes to your computer, something you spendf a lot of time on, it makes sense to invest the extra moeny and get something you know you can trust. jsut my .02

watch for some of the online coupon websites.

Tell LCD panels are have huge discount coupons.

I bought a 28" lcd monitor for $800. almost 1 yr ago. might be cheaper now.

Also there are only a couple of manufactors of lcds screen so be picky, some really suck.

Damn near every lcd monitor now comes with speakers built on it. If you knew anything about computers which judging by your previous statement you dont know jack sceptre is a big name brand in computers.

To the original poster, that is a good price. I would say get it, i used to run a computer store and sold sceptre. I never had a single sceptre lcd go bad. Sceptre is a great brand. I have one like that going on 2 years now but its the x9 19". You will be very happy with it.

I'm fairly knowldegable about computers as well. It's a good price and a good monitor. I have a pair of 20" widescreens as well, I love them. Don't use the built in speakers though, if you want anything decent sound quality-wise, use real speakers. The monitor is great though, just don't use the built in speakers.

what? speakers built in? thats the stupidest thing ive ever seen and like the guy above me mentioned they prolly arent top of the line speakers. i was jsut saying before he buys to make sure the company he is buying form has good tech support incase anyhitng goes wrong.

anyways, sorry to highjack your thread but while we're on the topic of monitors check this one out, it is insane...lol just for fun... if you trade in your car you might be able to pay for it!
