computer experts anti virus dudes whatever help
Ok I'm not a computer expert, but help me with this.
I can't figure out how anti virus software (norton, symantec whatever) is worth a pinch of shit.
I mean first of all, the only way the software can recognize a virus is if it is in the database, right?
so how the fuck does it detect anything new????
I mean if you were a hacker wouldn't you just write a virus under a new name so the norton software wouldn't recognize it in the first place?
And what about bitroots??? How does norton find those?
I mean anti virus software seems like a waste of money to me.
Can somebody enlighten me?

Yes, sometimes new viruses will get passed the anti-virus, but 9 times out of 10, by the time the virus goes world-wide the companies already have a fix out and the software will download the update.
Also, most software is smart enough to recognize virus-like activity and put a stop to it, even if it doesnt recognize the virus.1991 Camaro Z28

Your describing passive protection...and yes...AV's only react...you need to be pro-active...you do not want anything writing itself to your registry and block "suspect" activity until you approve it.....there are a few tools in my freeware section that have been tested to do this....I use em and have not had a single virus in years on any of my PC's....and May I add...Norton and McAfee suck donkey balls....the best AV's out there are 100% fully functional and free like Avast/AVG/Anti Vir...and yes you can get the full free versions on my website also....
Here are a few pro active protection solutions that I recommend..

SpyWare Blaster and XRAY PC.....both pro active solutions.
