is a coffee machine worth it?

I usually buy 1 cup a day for $1. I might buy one in the afternoon too. So if I buy a coffee machine for like $30 with the price of creamer, coffee, and filters. Do you think it would be worth it? or continue to just buy it from the store?

I usually walk into town and get coffee...now that I'm moving it might be a matter of convience to not have to go drive to buy it.

I'm thinking it's a matter of convience than price per cup.

Yes and look into a Flavia. We have one at work and I've got one at home.

What you need to ask yourself is are you a coffee snob. If you can get over the fact of not swigging some trendy brand then yes, coffee machine is for you.

My wife got me a Kurieg (sp) for my birthday. Fresh cup of coffee in ~25 seconds.

Rather than using the expensive pods they sell for it, she also got a small basket that allows you to use your own coffee grounds. By filling it to the brim, the coffee's flavor and strength is completely consistent every morning, and we waste a lot less coffee versus a conventional pot.

I chuckled at the price tag (~$120 or so), but I'm completely sold on the awesomeness of this machine.

i got myself a small 3 cup coffee pot from wal-mart for like...$20. it uses a permanent filter which you just clean with soap and water so there's not additional cost there. just the cost of running the tap water, turning it on and the coffee grounds. my g/f tends to like it as well cause she can get a nice hot mug of water quickly for her tea. i don't use it every single day, but i use it often enough where it was a decent purchase.

I was actually wanting one of those (or a Braun Tassimo) but the special coffee pods turned me off on them. Maybe i'll have to get one and take your advice.

We have a $10 Procter Silex @ the shop.. Some Chase and sandborn, run through some great values.. Reheated about 5-10 times throughout the day.. If you have'nt shit by lunch time somethings wrong with the coffee.. I don't usually have time to sit and sip/savor a $5 cup of bs. nor stand there and watch a 500+ dollar piece of equipment make it..

I have one too. Love it. So many varieties of K-cups. I think I'm getting my girlfriend one for Xmas.

just a suggestion, if your getting one with electronics, get them above the pot, if somone fills it who doesnt know what they are doing and it overfills, they have a tendency to short out
