to coat or not to coat
my new headers just got here and was wondering if cermaic coating was worth the cost.some friends tell me that the cermic coating is good to prevent rust.some swear by wrapping them with header wrap.i dont care for the mummy look but if its worth it i'll do it hell i'll do both if it will help.any further input would be greatly appreciated.

well you shoulda had them coated before they got to you but yeah if they arent stainless I would get them coated. Header wrap with prevent underhood heat, so so much on the antirust thing so if you wanna run a little cooler then wrap em up.

you will be fine, just get some wicked heads and cam when the time comes cause those flanges while definatly move anything you can push through a 346 lol. People normally use the 1 7/8 for a little bigger displacement.
I was going to recommend waiting on the tune if it was going to be closer but since its not for a year then ide go ahead and get it. Dont put in your 160 degree thermostat until its time for the tune though.. might be wrong but someone was telling me it could cause issues because the engine never gets up to operating temp.

i was hoping to get at least 5 years out if the headers(is this impossible)the 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 were the same price and bigger is better?how much will it affect my torque for now?my tuner says i should get about 50 hp with the mods coming up right now.

I dont know exactly how much your torque will be affected but im sure you will find something on here if you run a few searches. 50hp? umm MAYBE. dont get hard numbers stuck in your head or you may be disappointed. These mods are just stepping stones to seeing awesome numbers with your upcoming heads and cam swap

and yes, you should see at least 5 years out of them. My jet hots have been in for 4 years now and just have a little bit of surface rust on them
