    Question Clutchless shifting

Sometimes after a whole day at work standing on my feet, I would drive home exhausted. And a lot of times, my feet hurt to even press the clutch in.

Now I do a lot of RPM Matching and shift with out my left foot ever touching the clutch. This is in my Yota (DD).

I never bothered to think, if thats even good for the trans or clutch.

any input? anyone else does it?

Doesn't the car have to be able to start 1st or are you just sitting in it play driving?

I did the same thing for 4 or five years...never hurt anything, worked great till it caught on fire from an oil leak!

No need to start, the shifter unlocks after just the key turning

Never done it. I have heard many a horror story of transmissions self destructing.

This is how semitruck transmissions work. They don't have synchros so they have to rpm match. And if you're good you can do this in your yota and not do any damage. However, the synchros can cover up some small rpm mismatching and that can really wear them down quickly.

this... i drove truck for years and know how to do it the right way... if you're doing it wrong you'll know... your syncros WILL wear out faster this way according to others who have done this but even though i'm on my 5th engine (racing is a bitch) i'm still on my first trans and have yet to have it fail even under more hp than they are said to stand...

You haven't been here that long. The Spaz is real hard on engines. Thinks a stock LS1 can take 7500 rpm all day long...
