I agree. Post pics of the car so we can see if its ugly or not. I think the majortiy of the new mustangs are ugly as all get out.

Not sure yet. I really don't have room for a 4th vehicle.
The ZL1 is going to be a helluva car but it'll also have a helluva dealer mark up on it. I can get the Boss 302 for around sticker($43,575). I agree, Ford really stepped up on the Boss. I really like the body lines on the car. The shoulder line right behind the door is sexy. Very similiar to a 69. The paint and stripe package looks great to me. The motor is a 5.0 HO and the available track key will be a factory supported tune obviously. I'm not impressed with the lack of technology in the cabin. No NAV, no audio options, no bluetooth, etc. It's a bare bones race car weighing in at 3580 lbs

Congrats. The Boss 302s are very capable cars. I'd rather have a Boss than a GT500, it's a better all around car. And truth be told, it pretty much beats the camaro SS in most performance aspects.

Nice....here is some interesting information for you other folks wanting that performance (or close to) for less. Remember, A GT is not as heavy if it isnt optioned out as the BOSS.
What is the Brembo Brake Package?
The 5.0 returned to the Ford Mustang in the 2011 model Year, except this time it would come in the form of an all aluminum 4 cam, 32 valve motor that puts out 412 Horsepower, which is almost twice as much as the original push rod 5.0 we have loved between 1987-1995. With all this new found power, it was only natural to tune the suspension and add major stopping power. Hence, option 55D, or better known as the "Brembo Brake Package".
However, much confusion has been made as to what the "Brembo Brake Package" really consist of. The Brembo Brake Package was and is only offered on 6 speed manual transmission GTs. The official Ford Buyers guide list the option as nothing more than a brakes, wheels, tires. When one looks at part numbers on FordParts.com, you might see that all the mustangs models have the same part numbers listed, however the differences can only be detected by price and description, not part number. For this reason one must speak to Ford Parts Counter Person to get the actual extension numbers. If that's not confusing enough, you also have a whole global community of people on the internet posting ideas, theories and nonsense about what the "package" really consist of.
Because of all this confusion, it became easier for people to believe that the "Brembo Brake Package" (aka Option 55D) was just the addition of the Brakes and 19" Wheels and Tires, however, in really it is much more than that. Lets take a closer look.
First,we need to look at what a normal 2011-12 GT shares with a Brembo Mustang:
Part Specifications that ALL 2011-12 Mustang GTs come standard with including the Brembo Mustang:
Rear: 11.8" Vented Rotors with 1-Piston Calipers
Sway Bars ( 34.6mm Front/ 24mm Rear)
Strut Bar Brace
Higher Durometer Rubber Bushings
Second, lets look at what a standard 2011-12 Mustang GT does not have, that a Brembo Mustang does;
The (55D) Brembo Brake Package includes the following:
Front: 14" Brembo® Vented Rotors with Brembo® 4-Piston Calipers
19 x 9.0-inch dark-stainless premium painted aluminum wheels
255/40R19 Pirelli PZero Summer-Only (Coupe) or P255/40ZR19 Goodyear F1 Supercar (Convertible)
Different Springs (131lbs Front / 167lbs Rear)
Different Struts/ Shocks (tuned for spring rates)
GT-500 Rear Lower Control Arms ( Higher Durometer Rubber)
Unique Electronic Stability Control® (ESC) Tuning
Unique Sport Steering Control Setting (EPAS)
Tire Mobility Kit Replaces Spare Tire
Ford downplayed many of these features of the package, and didn't make a detailed list of it, probably because they wanted people to focus on the upcoming 2012 BOSS 302. Why? The answer is simple, if one takes a base Mustang GT in the 300A Rapid Spec (plain like the the 2012 Boss 302, without comfort and electronic packages ), and adds the Brembo Brake Package and the optional 3:73 gears, they damn near have the same car for as little as $29,500. The 2012 Boss 302 stars at a MSRP of $42,000 ( it you can get it that cheap) and only comes with just 30 more Horsepower, manually adjustable shocks, slightly higher spring rates, a larger rear sway bar, and staggered size tires.
A true performance enthusiast would have to question, "is it worth it ?". Other then the fact that the Boss name has superstar celebrity appeal and racing history behind it, could an enthusiast justify the $12,000+ (or more) price difference? Seems hard to justify, considering that if you wanted to out perform the Boss 302 you could easily add 100+ horsepower to your "stock" 5.0 engine with a bolt on supercharger and upgrade the suspension with very little and still have an extra $6,000 in your pocket. For these reasons, Ford may have thought that this scenario could easily cut in the Boss 302 sales.
Ironically, for the 2013 Boss 302, Ford has decided to add comfort and electronic packages as options because some buyers have complained that the 2012 Boss 302 is too race like and plain. I guess, sometimes people forget what Boss 302 performance is about.
Do the Brembo Mustangs have the same "spring rates" as Standard GTs or Boss 302s?
They do not! They have their very own spring rates and part numbers. See the comparisons below:
Front Sway Rear Sway Front Springs Rear Springs
Base GT
34.6 mm 24mm 123 lbs. 156 lbs.
Brembo
34.6 mm 24mm 131 lbs. 167 lbs.
Boss 302
34.6 mm 25mm 148 lbs. 186 lbs.
Laguna Seca 34.6 mm 26mm 137 lbs. 191 lbs.

No doubt the GT can get very close to same performance with it's available options. At the end of the day a GT is still...just a GT. I bought #1930 because 1) I'm an enthusiast and 2) I can afford it. I have no intention of modding or tracking the car. I am really not feeling that game anymore. I will drive and enjoy it for what it is. BOSS #1930. Race Red Boss's are beautiful. I was smitten when I saw her.
Note: if someone wants to give their number in PM, I can text them pics of me and the car to post here in this thread. I'm at a place where I can't do it and not really sure how to.Last edited by Huskerz1; 11-08-2011 at 10:37 AM.
