I remember when they were new. You couldn't give them away. The local Chevy dealer had 1 on the lot for 2 years. Back then I was washing new cars as they came in. I lusted after that car. The engine doubled the cost of the car. This is the ultimate "If I knew then what I know now I'd have financed all of them including the 2 Vettes they built."

Ok, I just looked at the post and thought it was about the original ZL1's. Yeah, those are commemorative cars. Fred Gibbs was the one who ordered the original 69 ZL1's back in 68. And yes, I wouldn't mind having one of those either. IIRC, they have C5R 427's under the hood.

very well could be. i don't think it has roof and rear deck stripes to the best of my recollection. no doubt he'll have it out this summer at some of the cruise ins. i'll try to remember and get a pic of it. sweet car.
