    Cheap hotels in vegas?

Hey guys, lookin to go out to vegas in a week or so. I'm looking to spend under $30 a night so I can enjoy more of what vegas has to offer. I'm looking at maybe the tropicana, hooters, imperial palace...Has anyone stayed at any of those? what did you think? are there any good places near that?

I can't even find a place here in El Paso for $30 a night. How many nights you looking to stay? Should've booked a month back man that's the way to get the best cheapest deal i think.

any questions you have about vegas let me know cause I go all the time, and used to go a few times a month for work..

Hooters is about to be closed and is desperately hurting for business. Its not a nice hotel but it can be had for 30 bones a night. If a holiday inn is 4 stars, hooters is 2.5 stars. I would stay at tropicana over hooters... cleaner nicer place, on the strip too.

tripadvisor is a good place to find discounts, and also signing up on the hotel websites, I get email offers from Venetician, hard rock and others all the time.

you will have to do some work, but google vegas hotel discount code or vegas hotel coupon code and you will find many discounts.

last two times I was there I stayed at hard rock hotel for $60 a night, and Rio for $35 a night and ceasar for $70. all three are prime places that usually charge closer too $200 a night. however the online codes discounted that.

on a hooters plus note if your not at the hotel much and only sleeping there, it could be worth the $30 a night, but its not the full vegas experience at hooters, but the gambling is cheap, and if you like country music, they do have a country bar owned by hot chics that go crazy

    yes rio suites.

luxor is cool, however they are misleading. Usually the $40 a night is for the twin tower rooms in back, not for the rooms in the actual pyramid

ok here's the thing... YOU CAN FIND ROOMS FOR UNDER $30, BUT! you will only find those prices for Monday through Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday you are looking at $40ish as the cheapest. So with that being said, places you should really look at for these prices are old downtown and non-strip casinos like Palace Station, Gold Coast, The Orleans, etc. I grew up in Vegas and only rented rooms for special occasions like prom, parties and so on. Those rooms were more along the $250-$300/ night, but were definitely amazing and worth it.

Seems to me that hotel prices should be lower than average right now given the fact that tourism is at an all time low. Vegas is suffering. It's all about tourism.

I generally just stay with my son when I go out there. But, there are a ton of low budget hotels along the old strip. Circus Circus and the like are considered low budget hotels these days.

yea we'd be going from a monday to a wednesday. as far as the luxor, how are the towers? i always thought the cheaper rooms wer ein the pyramid. the girl thats going with us cant afford over 30, so its' frustrating. ive never been down to fremont street. Im thinking of maybe the tropicana. Eventhough the tourism industry is hurting prices still are up there

interesting view on things, you can always tell how the economy is doing based off of vegas. Vegas remodels every 3-6 years to keep things looking new and fresh. right now vegas is starting to descend its remodeling, and things are picking up out there. Except home sales. I've thought about buying a house in vegas or close too, because of how cheap they are and how great of a house you get for the price vs anywhere else right now.

any chance she can stay in the same room as you.

last time I went, it was me, my gf, and her gf. We just stayed in the same room. Didnt claim her on the reservation, and just slip the bill 3 ways.

The luxor towers are not bad, you just have to walk to the casino floor in the pyramid a little further. Monte Carlo might be doing cheaper rooms toos. otherwise the tropican might be your best bet and they just re-modeled their rooms

Yeah, my ex husband builds homes out there and my son works on casinos. They have both been out of work on and off the last few months for the first time ever.

It's slow out there right now

Houses are cheap out there. My son bought his last year for a great price. Couldn't touch anything in comparison to it out here in CA for that much.

yeah monte is closer to one side, where as stratosphere is definitely at the other far end, still not as far as freemont street.

thats the same here in IL... a $200k home in vegas would be $700k here.

That's a LONG walk. Might want to catch the bus (many tourist do to get from one side of the strip to the other), or catch a cab.
