    CBR1000rr q's

Ive been trying to compare the 3 big bikes out there, the Hayabusa, the ZX14 Ninja and the CBR1000. But Ive come across something interesting. In all the class comparrisons, I never see the cbr listed among these guys. Sure it comes short in hp and trq by a smudge, but it seems to undercut in weight by a GREAT deal, and was wondering how that doesnt translate in its favor?

    08 busa - 580lbs wet, 167/102 hp/trq wheel .28793pw
    08 ninja - 564lbs wet, 162/102 hp/trq wheel .28723pw
    08 cbr - 440lbs wet, 154/79 hp/trq wheel .35pw

The hp is really close, the torque is lacking a bit, but the weight is dramatic! Does the lack of torque really not make up for the weight loss? The power to weight is much higher for the cbr, while the other two are almost dead even. Now given a choice between the busa and ninja id go busa all the way just because i think it looks 100x better then the ninja, even though they are almost the same damn thing on paper and the track. But id also like a bike that i can throw into the curves and i would think that the 100lbs+ drop woudl more then make up for the lack of torque, but it isnt even ever mentioned along with the other 2 bikes. anyone shed some light for me?

Your compairing to different styles of bikes. The Busa, and Z are straight line high performance bikes, not really made for curves. The 1000's, 750gsxr, and 600 are made for curves. The difference in bikes is the rider, a good rider on a 600 can out run a decent rider on a 1300, from a dig, or if allowed to move first.

If you want to drag your knees in curves go 1000, 750, 600. If you want braggin rights, and a fast top end get a busa, or Z.

While it does matter down low, in that area the slight difference in power/weight matters much less then the skill of the rider.

Up high the riders skill doesnt matter nearly as much, and the bigger bikes HP gives them the edge. Although I bet on most road courses the CBR would beat them, on the track/highway it wouldnt.

Basically it depends on what you are looking for, your riding ability, and comfort level.

    Speed = all bikes
    Rider Friendly = Honda
Geared for Experienced Riders = Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha
Hanging curves = in this order 600, 750, 1000 busa Z14 not recommended @ high speed
    1/4 mile fast = rider
Wheelies easy with no clutch = all but 600

PM me if you need anymore info.

1000cc sport bikes weigh close to the same as a 600.

like compare a r6 to a r1, and they are pretty close in all aspects, excpet power. speed is all about how you delive power to the ground. if you cant keep the front wheel down for shit on your 1000, then of course a good rider on a 600 will walk you. until you hit about 120 mph or so. by then the 1000 is just gettin into the middle of second, or third, and he will rip the 600 apart.

I found this on the yamaha webiste.

    r6- 366 lbs

    r1- 390 lbs

but, the r1 makes atleast 50 more hp......thats a big difference. and the torque comes in a lot sooner, and there much much more of it. also first gear is around 95 mph

Im not 100% sure but I think thats dry weight...I could be wrong though.....I ride a cbr 1000rr and I love it.....hell most people dont use a bike completely what its made for....cbr 1000 is so freaking fast...I would go for a cbr and its a honda so it will last a long time too

That is dry weight im way into bikes and the big differance between 1000cc and 600cc bikes is the rotating mass. Not so much the weight sitting there. You really need to look at what kind of riding your gonna due?How experianced are you?Busas and ZX-14s compared to a CBR doesnt work they are 2 way differant classes.I have three street bikes and thursday I just purchased a new Triumph daytona 675.Its a great bike that in the twisties I can spank any busa and your average liter bike rider. But on a straight there gone.

BTW this vid is not mph.....The cbr beats the zx up to I think its 175mph....but after that the zx beats the cbr....I dont see me ever hitting 175mph on a bike so the 1000 is more than enough for me.

the cbr 1000 will be a good all around bike. hell any bike if riden correctly will smoke a f-body in a straight line. corners= rider and skill level.

the busas and zx's are nice bikes if you only want to ride highway quickly.

Its ok but it wont hang with a 1000 for a 750.....if you want a all around good bike get a 750 or 1000....but if you just want to go 200+mph get a busa or zx.

Busas are so so in the twisties, nothing compared to 1000 or 600,a buddy of mine has a busa and it does okay. Its alot more comfy than a cbr 1000 or R1.
