Cash for Clunkers.. Pissin me off!!!
For starters.... I'm not working 7 days a week to keep up with demand for new cars....
I wanted to trade in my Tahoe with 250,000 to get a new fullsize truck, because that's what I need!!!! That's what I want!!!!
Well aparently my Tahoe gets too good a gas mileage....
to recieve a credit for a new truck.... Grrrrrr I am so pissed.
Now every lot I go too is sold out of everthing. Can't find any kind of truck... No colorado's or nothing.
I don't even qualify for a F'n Ford ranger.
I need a F'n truck... I Tow quads and stuff upnorth, and I wanted to plow this year to make some extra money... I can't do that with no 4 banger

I have an 02 silverado single cab with close to 200K and a newborn baby. I wanted to trade mine in for something larger and apparently it's not on the list of approved vehicles either. It gets 17mpg for me

My Tahoe creeps in at 14 combined... The new trucks are somewhere around 17 combined ( I think ) so it's only a +3mpg which don't qualify. I originally wanted a bone stock Silverado.... I could've got for round 15,000 - minus discounts and rebates so it was a hell of a deal if I could've pulled it off.
They tried getting me into a crossover (can't recall which one) but they start at $26,000... Much more then I wanted to spend.
Yes......Obama... lol Well at least he's keepin the economy moving in the right direction... Foward... Regardless of your opinion on the cash for clunkers program... It's keeping people buying cars and most importantly... Building them.
I honestly think it will keep comming back in one form or another.... Once or twice a year. Then I see it moving onto other indrustries. Next it will be turn in your old fridge and get money towards a new one. I'm all for it if it keeps people working.... Hard working people such as myself who reply on that paycheck and don't wanna go on unemployment.
I'm just getting a little tired at 7 days a week... I once did almost a solid year straight at 7 days a week.... I'm an old man now... can't do that crap anymore.Last edited by knightryda01; 08-16-2009 at 06:15 PM.

Just buy a truck that's a few years old. Why buy a brand new truck if you are actually going to use it for work?
Seems like there's a ton of people buying new who'd be better off buying used.
Like a guy I work with. He was originally going to pick up a used truck for 10 or 11k. Then CFC comes out, and he ended up buying a new Colorado, which is costing him close to 16k after all the rebates. So even though he got a 3500 credit for his old F150, He's still spending 5k more than he originally wanted to.
And I thought fullsizes weren't eligible for the credit anyway?

Cash for clunkers is pissing me off in another way. I had to pick up my sister when she dropped off her nissan for warranty work. Seeing all the perfectly good s10 Blazers, square bodies, and gmt400's pissed me off soooo bad. Most of them had perfect paint/body too.

I wish there was a program for somebody who can't afford car payments...

there is.....it's called the car jacker program. Firstly...do you own a pistol? Very important in that program. Secondly.... do you own a hooded sweatshirt? (preferably with an oakland raiders logo), and lastly....can you complete this sentence " Hey ------ ------, get your --- out of the car!!!"
If you said yes to all 3 then you may qualify for the car jacker program.
