Car show categories?

i have best of show, sound off, and i need something else?

i'm not trying to go all out with 8million catagories. just a few basic, common ones for the fundrasier.

1. Muscle Cars
2. Early cars ( Pre-1965)
3. 65-75 Street
4. 75-85 Street
5. 85- Present Street
6. Custom Rods
Give trophies for the top three in each class....then a Best In Show.
Yeah and a Pick Up class....in case any of the HillBillys want to show off their Ford Lightning's

Oh yeah....as a judge always accept free beer as a bribe. It's in the rules somewhere.....and BJ's from their wifes is also in the rules...somewhere...

i was thinking like 3 categories or something. Yuma is small, and i'm still trying to get all of the planning done. so i'm still not sure how many cars i'll have. i don't want to make it like a Sema show, but i don't want the usual 10 car "weekend" free show either.

something to help raise money for the ball, not go broke, and get some sponsorship going.

my goal is for the sponsors to pay for the "prizes"

You could have a popular vote , and not Judges .. Then like just give away some small stuff as prizes on a draw ... I have been to some shows that did that and it goes over well.

how would you do the "vote"

do what ever car has the most donations, like a box infront of every car and $1 per vote and give out prizes such as gift cards for stores, or sponsers ect.... for the top 3

You give the piece of paper that say its a 1970 yadda yadda and a number that they put in the windshield. When people get to the show you give them a ballot , or just a little piece of paper with a first, second,third thing, or whatever . Encourge everyone to vote ..At a certain time you make sure you have all the votes, count them up and . there you are....sorry if I got to detailed ..

that's a good idea. i was just thinking $500 for 1st prize. and depending on sponsorship would have decided the other places. i thought even tickets to the ball would be cool with a reduced cash value..
