Can you use "pre-last" in a sentence?

Ok, Prelast is not a word, but combining a prefix "pre" and a verb "last" would make sense?

For example:

Today was payday and my boss had a whole bunch of checks that were in alphabetical order by employees names. So while she was looking for my check and I said, its towards the end, most likely it's pre-last.

She looked at me like I just told her that I can cured cancer by snapping my fingers.

She said, What the hell is pre-last?

I said. "Before Last"

Its not Rocket Science.

So if you are standing in a line and the person standing behind you is a last person. Wouldn't that make you the pre-last person? Is there another word for it?

i dont see why you cant use pre last when the term pre historic is thrown around.. lol just makes it mean before last. im no english major but fuck it, trademark it and use it. lol

just an odd way of saying. expect to get a lot of weird looks talking like that lol...

the english language is a crock of shit anyhow for the most part. Try teaching your kid how to read then you really come to terms with how confusing it can be. Example. When he and I read a book then that book was read. How do you explain to someone learning to read that the word is spelled exactly the same but pronounced differently? Make up your own words...screw 'em. I saw one moose and it was with 3 other moose. There was also one goose with 3 geese. I mean wtf??

(adjective)

1. next to the last: the penultimate scene of the play.

2. of or pertaining to a penult.

thats the closest you can get to it. prelast sound and makes more sense.

Given the prefix pre means earlier or before, every check but one was "pre-last". Not very helpful in finding your check if you ask me.

in the context he used it in, you are absolutely correct. Its not a verb. If he were to use it as " I wish to LAST more then 10 minutes with jayden james" well then you can argue the word LAST is a verb lol
