theft is theft, there smart guy. do you really want to lose your job over $120 dollars. it's also credit card fraud. pay it now, or pay for it big time later...

With regards to fraud, it's kind of a grey area. I could use my corporate card to buy whatever and as long as I pay the bill, they would only be upset over the fact that I'm throwing off their spending metrics.
If you use the card to buy something for yourself and expense it to the company as if it was used for business purposes, then yeah, your job is at risk, possible arrest, lawsuits, etc.
Just offer to pay the expense and you'll be fine. It's covering up and getting caught that buries you.

Go & settle this debt or indescretion right now, or at least tomorrow morning. Do what ever you have to do to fix it, but your statement will need to be reconciled by the end of the month. If it doesn't get caught then, there are always audits. Our company makes us go through conflict of interest and business conduct guide lines every year for purchase orders, company credit cards, p cards & dealing with suppliers & contractors. I would not loose my job over $120.00. I'd go to my supervisor with "check in hand", keep the explanation real short & simple & get it over with. In 22 years I've yet to see anyone get fired or severely reprimanded over being up front with a mistake.
It's fairly easy to grab a company credit card by mistake & buy something with it, instead of using your personal credit card.
Just my two cents worth.

the job is already lost. and the indescretion was found. i just wonder if indeed the police could be called in, or they could only SUE you in small claims court over it.

Sorry to hear this all happened. I would just pay the $120.00 & get on with life & chalk it up to, "I won't do that again"! You are going to go out & get another job, you don't need that hanging over your head. It's not a lot of money for piece of mind, plus, if you spent money that wasn't yours, it's just the right thing to do.
Even if they are not chasing you for it, if someone was to call back for reference, even though this happened, it would look good for you if you just settled the thing.
Good luck.

Our company's CC company will notify them if anyone pays a bill charged to the company's card with a personal check. Personal use of the CC is grounds for immediate dismissal.

I've handled lots of CC fraud cases that come through my department. In most states, CC fraud is a felony, regardless of the dollar amount. I've put several people in prison for it... it's VERY serious. Your best bet to avoid prosecution would be to work a deal with the company, pay the money back, and get something in writing. You could contact an attorney to see what type of documentation you should ask to receive for paying the money back, but that will cost you, as well.
