    Can I do this with a subwoofer box made out of MDF?

    I had a sub box for some tens made and it says its made from MDF construction, whatever that is. Anyways, can i drill some different kinds of scews into it without the wood splitting? Ive got to first drill the speakers and grilles on it and didnt know the best screws to use.

    Also, what is the best way to screw speakers in without the drill slipping off and poking a hole in the speaker, ive done this alot and cant figure out a way to do it safe.

    MDF = Medium Density Fiberboard

    It's essentially compressed cardboard......you can use screws in it with no problems

    Mark your hole location with a black Sharpie.....remove the grille or speaker.....THEN drill
