Can cars hate?

This is my wife's '74 Corvette L-82 that I restored over the course of a couple of years. She bought the car when she was 21 years old and drove it until about 1994 or so when it was parked. It sat for quite a few years before I began working on it and eventually did a complete restoration on the entire car.

Just over three years ago, it decided to leak coolant out of a brand new radiator. If anyone has ever pulled a radiator out of a C3, you know it is a complete bitch to do.

Last year, the car thought it would be funny to spring a leak in the rear brakes, again, a brand new caliper that might have 500 miles on it total. Not terribly bad to do, but the stainless steel sleeved replacement also decided to leak right out of the box and I had to order and exchange another one adding a whole week to the down time.

This year, as I am toiling away next to it on the Trans Am, I notice a puddle under the front end. Now the power steering control valve, yet another new part with stupid low miles on it, has decided to fail.

Does this car hate me???

The car doesn't hate you, but China...were a majority of where the new parts are made, hate Americans in general and its just their way of screwing with people. Idk.

Or you just have a gremlin you stepped on at some point in time.

Hell Yes cars can hate.

My niece POS hates me and everyone that works on it. It only like her, so I'm convinced her car is a male car or a militain lesbian.

I'm trying to drive it... but it keeps breaking. I also go out of my way to buy North American made or remanufactured parts whenever possible. It is just strange as I have never had such bad luck with a car before.

If it's leaking oil or coolant than you still in the clear. If it stops leaking than you're out of oil and coolant, lol

My Rx7 hated me with a passion. Then loved me the next day. Then hated me some more.

I finally tired of its Bi-polar personality and let someone else date the tease.

If only there had been easily available LS1 swaps when I had it...
