Camaros finish 1-2
Did anyone else watch the Grand Am race from Virgina today ??
At first it was a regular monsoon , but after the rain went away a great race came through .. The Mazdas or BMWs usually up front m but with the rain the lightness of the cars was a disadvantage ... One of the Camaros had to remove the hood as the windshield wiper kept getting stock under it .. But great to see the 2 Camaros up front fighting for the lead..

True that ..and I dont know what happened to it .. Boris Said is one of the drivers and he is great in rain races ... Just may have been a bad weekend for them...After the rain stopped it was a one groove racetrack , so if you were in the back for some reason you could not move forward ...

I've done many years of oval track racing AND road course racing. Idiots who think NASCAR isnt as difficult when it comes to driving skill probably havent ever stepped foot in a real race car.
My seat time on road courses includes sprint karts and a formula ford. And I raced in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series for many years as well in a sportsman division (stock stub late model) on a 3/8s low bank oval. They were all challenging to drive in their own unique ways.

There are probably alot of 20 years olds out there with the necessary talent to wheel a car in one of NASCARS top three series. It's a matter of who gets the chance to put that talent on display for the right people. Naturally though there is a learning curve for anyone getting into a new car and a new series, but those young drivers (were you referring to Logano?) are there for a reason.
It wouldnt last long. You'd start burning up brakes, hubs, steering parts, and tires pretty quick in a stock GTO. It's amazing how quickly that kind of racing can wear out some of those things on a pure street car I'd suggest getting yourself a shifter kart if you want to do some racing. It is relatively cheap, and those karts will outcorner just about anything short of an indy car or formula one car.
