It all depends on what you like the best. They are going to perform exactly the same. You will probably be able to get a camaro cheaper (at least from what I've seen lately). But I think that the T/As look way better inside and out (ESPECIALLY on the inside)

I dont think it really matters. I really do like the look of the TA a whole lot better but you can usually pick up a camaro a little cheaper. The camaro does have smoother lines than the TA. The TA has a much more agressive look to it. Depends and what kinda look your going for.

If you like the TA style then that's the car for you.The Camaro always outsold it so they are easier to find in a wider variety of prices. Some people are partial to the Camaro look -I've always felt like I was in the Batmobile in a TA(that should stir stuff up-lol)

i second that comment. personally i like the agressiveness of the t/a it is in your face. the camero is more like a modest car on the outside but just as wild under the hood

I prefer the headlights on the Camaro, but the interior on the Formula/TA is much classier, IMHO. Not that I have any prejudice, of course...

It's a personal preference, you really have to decide for yourself. And personally, I always preferred the look of the Camaro. It's so much meaner looking to me.

To anthropomorphise a bit, from the front end, a Camaro looks like it has a big open mouth to bite you with, a TA (or WS6) had a couple of nostrils to blow snot out of.

So, to paraphrase, the Camaro has a big mouth that is always yapping, while the TA is breathing fire through its nostrils...
    All in good fun, folk.

How about the RAM AIR IV?

157 were made in 1969, 55 of those were Trans Ams.

Yes the 69 T/A was a very good car . But if you are getting the best Trans Am I would take the SD455.
