I'm on the fence about this one. Treyarch didn't impress me with World At War (except for the zombies).

I still will purchase this when it comes out, just not amped about it. I think it's because I can't figure out what era the game is meant to take place. I was thinking Viet Nam war era (late 60's)? but then I saw the SR-71 and I crossed that off the list.

From what I've heard it's a sort of flashback deal where it goes back and forth between Vietnam and present day.

Ah, that's what my friends concluded as well.

Another trailer on the Playstation Network caught my eye, and got me pretty boosted. Medal of Honor: Tier 1. It runs along the same line as Modern Warfare ... it looks like win.

SR-71's first flight was in 64 and was introduced in 66... But retired in 98...

Thanks! I was very uncertain when that plane actually was dated. and was too lazy to google it.

So that would make the whole game tie together for me (just seeing previews and trailers)

I think it was used for mostly photo recon missions during the Vietnam War... Not to sure, but know it proved it's self during the Cold War.

fun-filled fact about the Blackbird. A friend of mine worked for a plating company in Holyoke, Massachusetts that plated the veins of the turbine for the SR-71 motor. He told me that all the fittings on the plane were barely hand tight and it leaked fuel like a siv when in the lower-atmosphere. Once it got up into it's operating altitude, the pressure would tighten up all the connections.

Looks cool but super gay if it releases on the Xbox before the PS3.

Also from heat. The space needed for expansion of the metals at altitude and heat, (I think 1200* at the leading edge of the wing at full speed). I read it in that little blurb from a book, somebody posted it months ago, a good half-hour read. Very very interesting plane.
