C8 Zora/ZR1 Mid Engine Corvette- They're Going To Do It

Two great articles on GM and the design of a Corvette super car. The ZR1/new Z06 is tapped out performance wise.

    Sadly now demodded :(

I'll believe it when I see it. They've been talking mid-engine Corvette since the 70's...

It is getting hard to squeeze more usable performance out of the car with the kind of trq numbers we are seeing now. A mid engine would be advantageous as it would balance the car and help in pretty much everything from straight line accel to getting on it earlier while exiting a corner. But at what point is GM just going to copy the designs of a ferrari, put a big v8 in and call it corvette? IMO the corvette looks more and more like a ferrari with each new gen they release, now they are gonna plop an engine in the middle and it will make the body lines look like a ferrari even more.

It definitely mimics the Ferarri - no doubt.
