c5 z06 or t/a?
Well i've been looking for a couple weeks now, in no rush. I just dunno which one would be better. I've always wanted the T/A so leaning towards that. Plus, i could put a bit more money in it before i even reach the price of a z06.
Kind of looking at getting a manual, because I've never had one before and my camaro is an auto, so I do know auto's are fun too. I'd like to have one that is already built up somewhat. Might not be the best idea, but it'd save a lot of money for one, and i've already took the pride in working on my Camaro. Kinda torn on this, not sure if I should get a modded one. If i could find on with a build LS2, 408, 9inch etc., that might not be a bad choice.
Clean overall, is the key here.
So this is what i've run across:
1999 T/A, somewhat clean, fikse wheels, 6spd, 9in., 15k

1999 Firehawk, looks very clean, pretty much stock, 6spd, 14k

2001 WS6, SOM, A4, 13k
I'd probably put some ccws on this and do a koni/strano combo on it and make the CETA mod black.

I haven't really come across any z06s I like a lot yet. I think these guys might be asking a bit much for em, but i'm sure they might budge a thousand or so.

z06. I was also looking at that SOM ws6 but at the end of the day, youd regret not getting a vette.

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Z06. Hands down.
I have the T/A, and driving Goose's Z06 was much more fun.

I prefer ta's over vettes... but if those were my options I'd go with the vette.

I've driven both a corvette and i have a t/a, but something about that ws6 looks so much meaner than a corvette... Go with the t/a, but still corvettes are pretty sick so either choice is good.

Z06, unless you come across a CETA. I've always liked that yellow and black combo. I just wasn't able to afford a WS6, CETA or SS. I have driven a C5 and it is a world of difference. You feel like your a part of the road. You are much lower. The car grips the road much better. The acceleration was a little better, but again it was a C5 and not a Z06. I've always wanted a Vette. Maybe one day...

How about 'do something different', ...
Everyone & their brother has a Z06 or T/A.
Invest in a classic, where you won't lose half your money as soon as you drive away!!!
1970's Chevelle, 1970's Trans Am, anything, ..., it's a whole 'nother world, ...
Seriously, if I had the funds, I'd buy some classic late 60's to early 70's muscle car again in a minute.
Of course they are harder to attain bank funding, unless you buy from one of the high-priced classics dealers.

I don't know a lot about older cars and i hear they can be hard to tune. If I were to get an older car, I'd like to get a 1st gen Camaro, Bandit edition Trans Am, or a Charger. I just don't know enough about those cars and gas will be a bitch. I'm not ruling them out, it'll be a while before I make the decision. Maybe I should find one with an LSx swap
I was actually looking at Grand National's, still kind of am. I've just always wanted the T/A.

Can some of you say explain a bit more of why the Z06 is better in your opinion?

They are 2 different vehicles seeking 2 totally different demographics.
It boils down to:
Do you NEED rear seats?
The vette will always hold its value better and will likely be better taken care of. Plus it is simply in a "ritzier" part of the automotive landscape.
Lookswise, it is a tossup for me anyways. I don't like the looks of the truncated roof on the Z06 and I think the hood of the WS6 is overdone to the point of being garish.
For the price of the Z06, you're not far from a C6. Much better looking IMHO and 6.0 to start with.
Which suits your NEEDS best?

Im a TA type of guy, but if had to choose over a ZO6 I'll be all over it.
